Christian Vallar est Docteur d’Etat en droit, Professeur agrégé de droit public classe exceptionnelle. Doyen honoraire de la Faculté de Droit Université Côte d’Azur (2009-2019), il est aussi l’ancien Vice-Président aux Affaires européennes.

Il est Référent défense de l’Université et Directeur du Laboratoire de droit public (2 pôles : Sécurité nationale et Mutations des territoires), de même que Délégué aux relations internationales de la Faculté. Par ailleurs, il est le Directeur des Masters Sécurité intérieure et Droit de la Santé, et de la Préparation aux concours de la police et de la gendarmerie nationale.

Chercheur associé au Conservatoire des Arts et Métiers, au sein de l’Equipe Sécurité et Défense, il est aussi chercheur associé au Centre de Recherches sur les Sociétés et Environnements en Méditerranées » (CRESEM, UR 7397 UPVD).

Il est spécialiste des questions de sécurité, de défense, et d’islamisme ; Colonel dans la réserve citoyenne de la Gendarmerie nationale, de même qu’avocat au Barreau de Nice.

Biography

Christian Vallar holds a Doctorate in Law and is an Associate Professor of Public Law in the exceptional class. Honorary Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Côte d’Azur (2009-2019), he is also the former Vice-President for European Affairs.

He is the University’s Defense Advisor and Director of the Public Law Laboratory (two divisions: National Security and Territorial Change), as well as the Faculty’s International Relations Officer. He is also Director of the Master’s programs in Internal Security and Health Law, and of the preparation program for the police and national gendarmerie entrance exams.

He is an associate researcher at the Conservatoire des Arts et Métiers, within the Security and Defense Team, and is also an associate researcher at the Center for Research on Societies and Environments in the Mediterranean (CRESEM, UR 7397 UPVD).

He is a specialist in security, defense, and Islamism issues; a colonel in the citizen reserve of the National Gendarmerie, as well as a lawyer at the Nice Bar.
